ANSI C63.4 - Revision
Use of Ferrite Stabilization of Exit
Cables
-
Background
Amendment 1 to CISPR 22 3rd Edition was published in August 2000.
This amendment includes a requirement to use ferrite channels on all exit
cables from and EUT on an OATS. These ferrite channels are required
to have a minimum of 15 dB of loss over the frequency range of 30 - 1000
MHz.
This requirement is in effect today in Israel. Amendment 1:2000
to EN 55022:1998 goes into full effect on August 1, 2003 in Europe.
In another form, this requirement goes into effect in Australia and New
Zealand in January, 2004.
The purpose of this ANSI effort is to evaluate the use of ferrite channels
on OATS and make a recommendation to ANSI C63 regarding their inclusion
in ANSI C63.4.
